Cycling medium route 51 km Lucca- Massaciuccoli- Lucca

MEDIUM ROUTE 51 km TOTAL ROUND TRIP - FLAT
 

Start from piazza Napoleone in the center of Lucca go up the Renaissance walls and go down to piazza Santa Maria and then exit the walls. Following the cycle path in via Barsanti e Matteucci you arrive at piazzale Don Baroni, where you will find the ramp that crosses the hillock of the river Serchio and leads into the River Park. From here, turning left ←, follow the Puccini cycle - pedestrian itinerary along the Serchio river bank up to the Ripafratta bridge. After crossing it, turn left ← into via Alessandro Volta, a dirt road that runs along the hillock, up to the intersection with the Lungomonte Pisano SP30. Cross it by proceeding along via Monticello up to the intersection with via di Radicata. Here, turn left ← and continue for 400 meters and then keep left ← in via dei Salcetti, passing through the motorway underpass. Continue to the GeoFor collection center and then immediately turn right → to reach another motorway underpass: from here begins the dirt road that crosses via di Traversagna Sud and leads to the ‘Le Pompe di Massaciuccoli’ water pumps center. Here, turn right → before the bridge and continue along the Puccini cycle - pedestrian itinerary for 3 km, up to a wooden bridge on the left: cross it and follow the path that leads to via delle Redole, then turn left ← into via del Porto and arrive at the LIPU (italian bird protection league) Oasis on Lake Massaciuccoli. From here repeat the itinerary to return to Lucca.
