Cycling Route 17km from Massaciuccoli to Lucca

ROUTE 17 km - FLAT
 

Start from the LIPU (italian bird protection league) Oasis of Massaciuccoli, take via del Porto and then turn left ← onto via Pietra a Padule. Proceed for about 1.5 km, up to the intersection with via del Molinaccio, before the G. Del Soldato Park: turn left ← into via della Piaggetta and then right →, where there is a drainage system [(*) see under]. Enter a dirt road that leads to via delle Lenze, along the railway, to then reach the railway station of Bozzano-Massarosa, where the cycle and pedestrian path “Fiori di Loto” begins, which continues along the via Delle Erbe e Dei Fiori and leads up to via Portovecchio. Here, before the rail crossing, take via della Pieve on the right→, which leads to the Montramito roundabout: take the third exit and proceed towards Viareggio up to Torre Matilde. Cross the railway overpass, continue along via Regia and then turn right → into via Fratti. At the end of it, enter the pinewood and follow viale Capponi until the intersection with via Marco Polo: turning left ← you will reach piazza Giacomo Puccini, where Villa Puccini of Viareggio is located.

(*) close to the drainage plant it is possible for pedestrians to make a detour (+1.5 km) by turning left into via Cava and following the path that runs along part of the

Burlamacca ditch and leads up to via delle Lenze, near the Bozzano-Massarosa railway station, thus returning to the main route described above.
