On the day before Christmas Eve, when the night has almost fallen, magic and tradition invade the alleys and the squares of the medieval old town of Barga. Here, more than 200 people in period costumes bring back to life arts and crafts recreating a suggestive atmosphere.
Like the many plaster characters of the traditional cribs for which the valley is famous, are re-enacted many ancient jobs such as: the grinders, the washerwomen, the blacksmiths, the clerks, the millers, the charcoal seller, the wavers ... who are frame to the Holy Family, that will wander across the old town streets and then step up into the hut located next to the Cathedral, from which the Nativity Scene will take place.
